“I just wanted to say thank you for taking the time to sit with Erin before the concert. It makes a big difference to her to be able to get close and touch the instruments as well as hearing them! She has been talking about “the horn at Lilliputs playing noisy elephant and twinkle star” ever since!”

Anthony Williams, audience member – a2 Horn Duo (for Lilliput Concerts Cheltenham) Concert Monday 17 October 2016

“I just wanted to say a huge thanks from us at Elmfield for today’s concert. The children loved it and all the staff loved it – the deaf staff especially appreciated the visual display and it helped them make sense of the concept. It was also a great opportunity to organise a gathering of some of the deaf children in Bristol – they are the deaf community of the future so always good to facilitate them meeting – they stayed for a rather elongated playtime after the gig to mingle and get to know each other. Thanks again to Laura and the quartet and any time you can return, or fancy trying different things out, you know where we are!! Regards. Claire.”

MiniBeats – Strings in Schools Wednesday 8 June 2016

“Great experience. All the family loved it. It is the second time we attend a MiniBeats event and there will definitely be a third. Laura’s way of leading the event is just perfect. And allowing the children playing the instruments after the concert is the icing on the cake. We really enjoyed the African music.”

MiniBeats – Wonderful World Audience members Sunday 5 June 2016

“Percussion is naturally attractive to children but the performers and Laura made it both stimulating for the children and enjoyable to listen to as well. We have been to many Minibeats events but this was by far the best!”

“Wonderful show- my son ran to me at the end & said that it was the best concert he has ever been to.”

“Great engagement with the children, with no “talking down”. First class!”

Minibeats – Percussion Pandemonium! Audience members Sunday 10 April 2016

“It was our first visit to Minibeats and we all (myself, my husband and our two sons – age 5 and 3) thought it was great. Laura (presenting) was excellent and knew how to keep the children engaged and spoke informatively at their level. The musicians played some lovely pieces and were very approachable at the end when the children were invited to come onto the stage to try out the instruments. It was just the right length for our boys and we really enjoyed it.”

“Max stars! This was a first classical music event for my 4-year old grandson, not renowned for his concentration powers, and he was rapt throughout. The presentation was brilliant, the music pieces well chosen (short and interesting in different ways), the presenter kept the children’s interest throughout, with what she said, use of instruments, encouraging them to join in (especially trying out instruments at the end).”

“Very engaging presenter that our children loved, great musicians and perfect to be able to try the instruments afterwards.”

Minibeats – Spring into Strings! Audience members Sunday 17 January 2016

‘Hi Laura, I thought you did a fantastic job yesterday – to keep the attention for that length of time is no mean feat! We had a good turnout in the evening and so it was a very successful day all round. Many thanks.’

Steve Ellis – Conductor, Redland Wind Band & City of Bristol Brass Band, ‘Happy Birthday Mr Sax!’ October 13 2014

‘The children absolutely loved the concerts. It was a brilliant experience and you’ve certainly enthused them. You have a wonderful way with large groups of potential hooligans, and my colleagues all wanted me to pass on their thanks and best wishes.’
